While teens are welcome at all of the City's recreation centers, they have a place to call their own at Lively Pointe Youth Center. Opened in June 2008, Lively Pointe offers a variety of opportunities and recreational outlets for students enrolled in middle and high school (ages 12-19).
Teens can participate in sports leagues, join the outdoor fitness class, go online in the computer lab, watch TV, or just hang out with friends after school. There is a weight room onsite, with a mix of cardio and weight machines, as well as a game room with three billiards tables, foosball and table tennis.
In addition, we also host a Teen Jam Program, which offers open gym and a fun, party atmosphere on selected Saturday evenings throughout the year. Free pizza and soda are served, while a DJ plays the latest beats.
For students looking to make a difference in the community, join our Irving Youth ACTION Council. This student-led group of teens not only helps staff develop programming at the center, but also participates in volunteer projects and special events throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Whether you sign up for classes at Lively Pointe, or any of the Irving recreation centers, get involved! Your future awaits.
