Libraries Rock! Pick Up Favorite Books During Summer Reading Challenge

Rock to the beat of favorite books during the Irving Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Challenge (SRC), June 1-Aug. 15. Pick up a paper log at any Irving library location, or sign up at to earn fun prizes and free books. 

  • Children can read, or be read to, for 20 minutes a day for five days at a time. Take the completed log to an Irving library any time after June 5. Children’s prizes include coupons, activity sheets, candy, a free book and a reading medal for completing the challenge. 
  • Teen reading logs and online prize redemptions through READSquared double as entries for the Teen SRC Apple iPad mini giveaway. Limit of one log, or online entry, every week. 
  • Complete the Adult SRC Challenge by reading or listening to five books to earn a free book or other awards.

Reading during summer months along with attending entertaining and educational library events is a winning combination for keeping the mind active and in learning mode all-year long. Check out more fantastic and free events during the summer at the Library's Events page.
