Earth Day is deeply rooted in a history of education. The first one was in 1970, held as a “national teach-in on the environment”. It was groundbreaking in that it brought together people with different beliefs and backgrounds to fight for a single cause. To expand knowledge and to once again gather together in common interests, Irving will be hosting its second year of award-winning eco-films during an expanded Earth Day Eco-Film Fest. Four venues have been selected with more films and times being added to provide film goers an opportunity to see provocative films that focus on issues such as food, water, natural resources and everyday people with a vision of making a difference.
