Several Irving organizations and city departments were honored at the Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) awards held in Houston. “At the KTB Conference in June, several of our partners were recognized by Keep Texas Beautiful for their efforts in furthering the mission of KTB and KIB”, said Randy Boatright, President of Keep Irving Beautiful. Keep Texas Beautiful has over 3,350 local affiliates across the state. First place KTB awards winners included the Irving Lake Association (Civic Groups Category); the Irving Rambler (Media Category); and the Alpha Zeta Eta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at North Lake College (Youth: Colleges and Universities Category). The City of Irving’s Code Enforcement and Parks and Recreation Departments received third place and honorable mention, respectively, in the Government categories.
Keep Irving Beautiful, an award winning affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, also received the KTB Sustained Excellence and Gold Star Affiliate awards, recognizing the way the KIB Board have chosen to do business in fiscal year 2008-2009. Keep Irving Beautiful hosted its annual Mayor and KIB Proud Partners Awards with a reception on August 3rd recognizing fifteen award recipients in eleven categories.
