2014 Financial Transparency - Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle Platinum Level
The Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle applauds local governments across Texas that have focused on giving taxpayers a transparent look at local expenditures.

In 2014, the City of Irving was awarded the Platinum designation by the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle, the newest and highest designation of transparency granted by the Comptroller’s program. The award establishes Irving as a government that exceeds expectations for transparency. The Platinum Award spotlights entities meeting the Gold standard that also:

  • Post detailed summary information on their websites about current bonded debt and repayment;
  • Link to the Comptroller's governmental transparency website; and
  • Pledge to post information online about proposed bond packages and existing debt. Local officials must provide the Comptroller's office with a link to this information no later than one business day after notice of bond elections has been made public.

Previously, the city received the Gold Leadership Circle Award for four years in a row since the award's esablishment in 2009.
