June is Adopt-a-Cat Month at the Irving Animal Care Campus, 4140 Valley View Lane. Adoption fees for cats 1 year and older are waived during June, and kittens are available for a $50 adoption fee. Vaccinations, spay/neuter, leukemia test and microchip included with all cat adoptions.
All adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

This in-depth theater camp is led by Child’s Play Touring Theatre’s professional artists. Students will learn and develop skills in acting, improvisation, singing, movement, writing, production, adaptation and much more. They will rehearse and stage a final performance that includes plays, songs and dances created from the stories and poems written by the campers themselves. Final performance is at 6:30 p.m. June 30.
June 26, 2017 - June 30, 2017 @ Meeting Rooms
Designed for students ages 13 to 16. Full days will feature four areas of study. Students also may opt for half days (morning or afternoon) with two areas of study. Mornings include Roy Lichtenstein Portrait Project and 2D or not 2D Landscapes with a Pop. Afternoons feature Hands-on Art History and Groove Tube, Multimedia Workshop.

Adults learn to identify the parts of a spreadsheet and toolbar, enter and edit data, format cells and use basic formulas. Basic computer skills are required. Classes are limited and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to class time. No registration is required. Classes are in the computer lab unless otherwise noted.

Open only to females age 10 through 19 years old living in the DFW area, the focus of the RAD class is realistic self-defense techniques. The course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, and then progresses to the basics of hands-on self-defense training. RAD is designed to engage participants in a series of hands-on, realistic, self-defense tactics and reinforce the power of the voice.
The course is taught by Irving police and detention officers who are nationally certified RAD instructors.
A parent/legal guardian must be present the first day of class to sign waivers for participants under 18 years old, unless prior arrangements are made. Participants should bring their own snacks and drinks during the class. Space is limited, and preregistration is required. Walk-ins the day of class are NOT accepted.
