Kids ages 6-12 stay cool and experience the Summer of ’17: Peace, Love and Art vibe through unique summer art camp adventures. On the agenda for “Good Vibrations” campers: Record Album Art, Relief Printmaking, ’60s Icon Self Portraits, Guitar (Beginning to Intermediate) and ‘60s Dance Craze Daze (Part 1) featuring dances like the Twist, the Madison, the Mashed Potato and the Stroll.
The book “Where the Wild Things Are,” written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak in 1963, will be the inspiration for all activities this week. Junior campers ages 4-5 will study the illustrations and then create their own Wild Things. Lessons will include “Textured Monsters,” “What Would You Look Like if You Were a Wild Thing” and “Imaginary Color Wheel Forest of Trees.” The drawings and paintings will be captured in a book that each student will take home to share the adventure.
