Teri Van Dorston leads an Exhibition Gallery Talk on Grant Wood's current exhibition at the Arts Center.
Organized and presented by the Irving Arts Center in conjunction with Celebrating Irving 2018, this exhibition features prints and works on paper by American painter, Grant Wood and his fellow Regionalists, including Thomas Hart Benton, John Bloom and John Steuart Curry. The exhibition features the 19 lithographs Wood created during the Great Depression that were printed and distributed by Associated American Artists, as well as two scale drawings of soldiers portrayed in the 24’ x 20’ stained glass Memorial Window he designed for the Veterans Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (1928-29).

Join Irving’s Be Green team at Earth Day Texas, an annual free three-day festival that seeks to elevate environmental awareness in North Texas. Through exhibits, entertainment and education for all ages, the community is inspired to lead a more sustainable lifestyle. Concessions will include everything from organic and vegan food options to favorite festival treats. Attendees additionally are encouraged to take the train (TRE/DART) to Fair Park.
