Council Liaison(s) Report on the City Council meeting of September 21, 2006 relating to actions taken on platting and zoning cases, if necessary.

Public Hearing Items: 7:00 p.m. – City Council Chambers:

• Items listed on the consent agenda are considered to be routine and non-contested, and action will be taken by one motion and one vote. There will be no separate discussion of consent agenda items. Any member of the commission, staff or public may have an item on the consent agenda moved to the individual consideration portion of the agenda for discussion and separate action.

• Action on items on the consent agenda shall be in accordance with staff recommendation unless otherwise indicated by the commission. The staff recommendation may be for approval, approval with stipulations, or technical denial for those items, which cannot be approved by the commission for technical reasons. Items technically denied by the commission may be appealed to the City Council for final action. The staff recommendation is indicated at the end of the caption for each consent agenda item.

5. Special Fence Project Plan SFP #227, Head Construction, applicant, request a special fence project plan variance to allow a 6-ft wood fence along the side property line on Story Road. This property is located at 2402 Arbor Court. (southwest corner of Arbor Court and Story Road).

6. Special Fence Project Plan SFP #228, Head Construction, applicant, request a special fence project plan variance to allow a 6-ft wood fence along the side property line on Story Road. This property is located at 2403 Arbor Court. (northwest corners of Arbor Court and Story Road).

7. Special Fence Project Plan SFP #229, Rosalva Martinez and Eliberta Dominguez, applicants, request a special fence project plan variance to allow a 6-ft tall wood fence 5-ft from the side property line instead of the required 15-ft from the side property line on a reverse frontage lot. This property is located at 2702 Harvard Street (northeast corner of Harvard Street and Rutgers Street)

8. Zoning Case #5648, Pogue Engineering, applicant, request a zoning change from S-P-2 (Generalized Site Plan) for FWY (Freeway) and Hotel uses to S-P-1 (Detailed Site Plan) for Mini-Warehouse uses for self-storage development. This property is located on the southwest corner of IH 635 and SH 161. (Postponed from September 18, 2006)

This case is scheduled for October 12, 2006 City Council Public Hearing.

9. Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Zoning Case #5651, RKM Consulting Engineers, applicants, request an amendment to the land use recommendation of the Comprehensive Plan to change the recommended land use from Office to Retail and a zoning change from R-40 (Single Family), and S-P-2 (Generalized Site Plan) for ML-20 (Light Commercial), and C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) uses to S-P-2 (Generalized Site Plan) for C-C (Community Commercial) uses for retail development. This property is located on the southeast corner of IH 635 and Belt Line Road.

This case is scheduled for the November 2, 2006 City Council Public Hearing.

10. Zoning Case #5652, Richard N. Smith, Inc., applicant, requests a zoning change from R-6 (Single Family) uses to S-P-2 (Generalized Site Plan) for R-6 (Single Family) uses. This property is located at 3908 Carver Place (south side of Carver, east of Gilbert).

This case is scheduled for the October 12, 2006 City Council Public Hearing.

This meeting can be adjourned and reconvened, if necessary, within 24 hours on the following day in the Council Chamber.
