Parks & Recreation
The goal of Parks and Recreation volunteer program is to provide meaningful opportunities that will provide educational and personal fulfillment through interaction with the community.
The volunteer program is open to the citizens of Irving, corporate individuals, and other City Departments.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Recreation Centers:
- Class instruction
- Advisory council participation
- Special events (i.e. Senior Citizen dances)
- Office assistance
- Maintenance upkeep
- Disaster team
Athletics/ Aquatics:
- Tournaments
- Coaches
- Swim lesson instruction/ swim meets
- Maintenance upkeep
Parks:
- Litter pick-up
- Maintenance upkeep
- Electrical plumbing
- Mowing/ trimming
- Construction
- Planting trees/ flowers
