Public Health and Environmental Services
The Public Health and Environmental Services Department offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals of at least 16 years of age. This department welcomes community participation in many areas including general office duties, special events, and neighborhood projects.

- Copying
- Stuffing envelopes
- Calling volunteers
- Conducting phone surveys

- Various City organized events including Earth Day, Texas Recycle days and health fair.- Volunteers help with running games, pass out information about recycling, or health issues, and help tear down booths.

- Greiner Environmental Center- Volunteers assist with site clean up including watering and weeding.
- Keep Irving Beautiful is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the health of our community and improving waste handling practices. The four major areas of concern are trash, litter, recycling, and beautification projects. There are many opportunities for youth groups and businesses to get involved. Members of Keep Irving Beautiful participate in School Presentations, Clean-Up Activities and various special events.
