Nov. 10-14 | Annual Pet Vaccine Clinic

To assist Irving pet owners, Animal Services will host its Annual Vaccine Clinic in November. Vaccinations offer pets the best available protection against preventable diseases such as rabies.

Up to four pets per household can receive low-cost vaccinations at the Irving Animal Shelter, 100 N. Briery Road. The clinic will welcome pets of all sizes and ages at the following dates and times:

  • Cats – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 10-13 (seniors, ages 65 and up, and residents with disabilities may bring cats or dogs at this time)
  • Dogs – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 14
Vaccinations will be limited to the first 1,000 companion animals. Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier. For $20 per animal, each pet will receive the following:
  • Rabies vaccination
  • Bordetella shot
  • General dewormer
  • FVRCP (cats)/DHPP or DHLPP (dogs)
“We look forward to hosting this clinic each year because every Irving pet owner deserves to have happy and healthy animal companions,” said Fred Sanderson, animal services manager.

Pet Registration Reminder
Another service offered to residents is pet registration, which helps to reduce the number of pets held at the shelter by ensuring the quick return of lost pets to their owners. Fees are as follows:
  • $5 – Microchipped pets
  • $10 – Non-microchipped; spayed or neutered
  • $15 – Non-microchipped; not spayed or neutered
Dogs and cats older than 4 months are required to have a current rabies vaccination certificate. Registration fees are waived for disabled residents and persons age 65 and older. A three-year registration cycle is available for pets with a three-year rabies vaccination. For more information, call (972) 721-2256.
