Citizen Fire Academy 

Please note that the Irving Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy is not a certification academy and does not qualify nor guarantee you a job with the Irving Fire Department.

 The Irving Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy is a great opportunity for the citizens of Irving to learn more about their fire department.

How: Fill out an application!

When: The Academy is offered two times a year and meets one evening per week from 7 to 10 P.M. for 11 weeks, plus one all day Saturday class.

Where: The Academy meets at the IFD Public Education Station, 1230 Glenwick, and at the Irving Police / Fire Training Academy, 2603 Esters Road.

Tuition: Free!

Minimum Requirements:

Recruits must be 18 years of age and live or work in the City of Irving to attend the Academy. You must fill out an application and pass a background check. We only take a maximum of 16 in each class to allow for each participant to have the "hands on" experience, if they choose too.
