Adopt-A-Spot

Participating in Adopt-A-Spot (AAS) simply involves the "adopting" of a specific locations by organizations such as businesses, industries, churches, neighborhood groups, individual citizens and families, and then making a commitment to keep the area litter free.

It is obvious that we as Irving citizens have to share the responsibility with the city to reduce the litter and thereby improve the appearance and beauty of  Irving.

HOW TO GET STARTED:

1) Pick a location.

2) Start with picking up litter (this is usually the major problem and is sufficient to fulfill your commitment to AAS).

In addition you may choose to:

• Rake leaves.
• Weed the selected area.
• Plant native plants, wildflowers or other flowers.
• Plant trees/bushes.

Choose your own time, commit yourself to the project for a year and BE PROUD OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Fill out a registration form.
• Commit to one year.
• Clean your area as often as is necessary, but at least once a week.
