Description: Netta Barcus (1880-1958) is in the front row on right. Netta moved from Dallas to the Kit community (today’s eastern Irving) to work as a teacher in 1902. There she met Otis Brown, who was working on a Rock Island Railway survey crew. The couple was married in June 1903. Otis Brown and J.O. Schulze founded the town of Irving, Texas, in December 1903.
