Where in the City is Malty?

maltyThe Irving Public Library's Maltese Falcon, Malty, has been stolen. On September 18th at a city council meeting, a femme fatale dashed into the meeting, grabbed Malty, and made off with him. City council members were reportedly stunned and shocked that anyone would be so daring as to steal the statue with so many witnesses. Detectives on the case know he has been hidden somewhere in the city but is moved often by his abductor to throw them off the trail. The library is now turning to the residents of the City of Irving for help in finding Malty. Clues sent to the newspaper by the femme fatale will be posted on this page everytime she moves him. If you happen to spot Malty, take a picture and submit it to us at referencemail@cityofirving.org. Include your name, Malty's location, and put MALTY in the subject line. Working together, we can bring Malty home safely.

October 6 - Malty was spotted at the Big Read kick-off event: From the Maltese to Meltzer...

Clues for October 15 - The femme fatale needed a java fix. After getting her fix, she headed next door to check out a book on bird care. She was spotted stopping for lunch at her favorite cafe, where she was probably hoping to catch a glimpse of her gridiron hero. Maybe while she's feeling so 'up' she'll return Malty home...he's probably homesick after seeing all those books.

Clues for October 17 - The femme fatale is once again on the move. She had been 'scouting' out a new location to hide the falcon and oh 'boy' did she find a nice place. It looks like a large museum...
