USCIS Exam
Information
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services require an exam to gain citizenship. The pilot naturalization exam contains reading and writing portions.
The following is what the USCIS expects of its applicants:
- Applicants will have three chances to read and write a sentence in correct English
- A testing officer will speak a sentence in English out loud and applicants will have to write everything down that the officer said
- Applicants will have to read out loud a sentence in English
- Lastly a civics exam will be administered
- Applicants are required to answer six out of ten questions correctly
- Questions are chosen from a master list of 100 civics questions and answers that focus on civics and history topics
