Multi-purpose Developments Planned for Las Colinas

Two major development additions are planned for the Urban Center in Las Colinas. These new areas will greatly contribute to the economic development of the city, and offer area residents and business workers a variety of activities and entertainment options.

Las Colinas Live! – This proposed multipurpose facility will span from State Highway 114, to Las Colinas Boulevard and Northwest Highway.

The project will include a four or five level entertainment venue and will seat 7,000 in a concert showroom and 2,000 in an outdoor equestrian arena. The project also will include a retail venue of approximately 217,000 square feet of quality retail, cinema and office space, with a hotel and condominium/spa venue that includes 140 guest rooms, 32 luxury condominiums, a 20,000+ square foot luxury spa and 25,000 square feet of retail space.

Construction is scheduled to begin the fourth quarter of 2007 and is expected to be completed by late 2009.

Water Street – The city will work with Gables Residential and Urban Partners in the funding and development of Water Street, another multi-purpose facility near O’Connor and Las Colinas boulevards.

The project consists of two phases. The first phase will include approximately 175,000 square feet of retail space, 32,000 square feet of office space, a hotel with 110 guest rooms, 36 condominium units, 390 multifamily residential units and a structured parking garage with 875 spaces. Construction costs for phase one are expected to total $218 million and is scheduled to begin during the third quarter of this year.

Phase two of the project would include up to 125,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space, 60 condominium units, 420 multifamily residential units and structured parking garages with approximately 775 spaces. Construction costs for phase two are expected to total $168 million and is scheduled to begin during the third quarter of 2009.
