Council Filing To Continue Through March 12
Residents who are interested in becoming a candidate for a City Council position can pick up an informational packet from the City Secretary’s Office at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. This year’s election for Places 1, 2 and 7 is set for May 12. If a runoff election is necessary, it will be held June 16.
Candidates running for Places 1 and 2 must have lived in that district for at least one year prior to the election. Place 7 may live anywhere in the city. The 30-day filing period runs from Feb. 12 through March 12 at 5 p.m. Early voting for the City Council election will begin April 30 and runs through May 8.

• April 30–May 4, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• May 5, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• May 6, 1 to 6 p.m.
• May 7 and 8, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
