The Irving Public Library presents a monthlong, going-green initiative called Learn 2B Green that will focus on topics such as water conservation, energy conservation, efficient living and recycling.
The series will include guest speakers, movie screenings, recycled art activities, animal demonstrations and a consumer fair.
“It’s the city’s goal to create a more earth-conscious community, and the library believes the first step to achieving sustainability is through education,” said Chris Dobson, adult services supervisor. “The Learn 2B Green series is designed to do just that by covering a range of topics for a variety of age groups in locations throughout the city.”
Sponsored by Bank of America, the series is free and open to the public. Programs will take place at the Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd., unless otherwise noted. For more information, call (972) 721-2606 visit the library's Learn 2 B Green Web page.
