| City Green-Lights Installation of New Red Light Cameras The city has installed three new red light cameras to provide increased safety to motorists. Since the installation of red light cameras in Irving more than two years ago, there has been a 64 percent reduction of red light running accidents at the designated intersections. New camera locations were selected following a lengthy safety study, to include:
Red light cameras capture actual
video and photographs of drivers who run red lights. Offenders receive
a notice of violation with a fine. The notices include color photos of
the driver’s car with a close-up of the vehicle’s license plate.
Offenders who request additional evidence have the option of viewing a
