Animal Services Technology Enhancements
The ongoing quest to increase efficiency and improve customer service using technology has resulted in enhancements to the software used at the Animal Shelter and the Animal Services’ phone system.

Enhanced Phone System
Animal Services has a new phone system that will provide improved customer service to residents. The new system ensures that voice messages are properly recorded and are routed to the appropriate party. In addition, the system provides dispatchers, officers, managers and supervisors with the ability to receive messages via BlackBerry so immediate action can be taken.

Efficient Reporting
At the Animal Shelter, new software has been implemented to automate many functions that were performed manually, allowing staff to spend less time on reporting. The added functions allow the shelter to manage pet data more effectively. Reports that had to be compiled manually such as pet registration, pet intake and pets adopted reports, can now be generated quickly online. Pet vaccination schedules also can be created with one click (versus having to walk from kennel to kennel to read each pet’s vaccination status).
