Development Ordinances Rewrite Initiative

Residents attended the kick-off celebration for the city’s Development Ordinances Rewrite Initiative Oct. 16 at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.

A presentation was delivered by Clarion Associates, the firm hired to upgrade all aspects of the city’s land development regulations (zoning, signage, landscaping, etc.).

The work program will address Irving’s current development regulations, which are outdated and no longer responsive to current development trends, and the need for “speed to market” on projects. The outcome of this process will be a fully integrated set of development ordinances and guidelines that will effectively meet the city’s desire to achieve a quality sustainable urban environment, coupled with the developer’s need for flexibility, predictability and a streamlined development review process.
