The Irving Public Library now offers electronic reference books through its business collection. The Friends of the Irving Public Library purchased 10 electronic reference books that include:
- Six volumes of the Business Plans Handbook
- The Encyclopedia of Small Business
- Everyday Finance
- Know! Market Research for Small Businesses and Start-ups
- The Woman Entrepreneur’s Guide to Financing a Business
“We are thrilled to be able to offer these exceptional resources to the business community,” said Business Librarian Linda Opella. “We realize that it’s often difficult for busy people to come to the library to use reference books. Business people and entrepreneurs will be able to use the electronic reference books at any time from the convenience of their offices.”
The books are part of the Gale Virtual Reference Library. Gale is a major publisher of reference books for libraries. Funds for the purchase were donated to the Friends of the Irving Public Library by students enrolled in the Irving Business Institute’s Entrepreneurial Essentials course.
