Keep Irving Beautiful Offers Green Event Program

To reduce litter at special events, Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) assists organizations with recycling and trash disposal through its Green Event Program.

KIB works with event coordinators to determine the number of trash and recycle containers, and volunteers needed to help monitor the event. In addition, KIB provides green event signage for placement at entrances and other public locations to remind patrons not to litter and encourage recycling.

Other tools provided can include: litter retrieval tools, safety vests, gloves, banners and brochures, and a visit by the KIB mascot, Kirby. Sample scripted announcements are provided during the event to encourage participants to be environmentally responsible.

KIB also will partner with sponsors, waste haulers, maintenance teams and others to provide support for a successful green event.
