The Dallas Cowboys’ lease has terminated and city staff has been meeting with the organization to prepare for all transition issues. The Cowboys will have until March 31 to remove property from the stadium before the city takes possession.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will lease the Texas Stadium site for $15.4 million and will occupy it as a construction/staging location for up to 10 years. TxDOT will be working on the Diamond Interchange reconstruction project of State Highway 114 and Loop 12.
During the term of the lease, the city has the right to relocate the construction staging area to accommodate a redevelopment opportunity.
Farewell to Texas Stadium Fan Fest, Stadium Memorabilia
Cowboys fans will have a chance to purchase memorabilia and get autographs from current and former players and coaches at the Farewell to Texas Stadium Fan Fest and Stadium Memorabilia Sale.
Doors will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Corral, which is located at Gate 8 at Texas Stadium. Parking and admittance into the event is free. Attendees will enjoy various music performances, refreshments, children’s activities and a silent auction with autographed memorabilia.
