Video on Demand Feature Expanded on City Web Site
Video on Demand Feature Expanded on City Web Site

Residents have another way to receive around-the-clock information about city news and events through the expansion of video on demand services at www.cityofirving.org/video-on-demand

The addition of this upgraded tool allows visitors to view taped recordings of various meetings and enjoy special programming produced by Irving Community Television Network (ICTN) at their convenience.

The city has provided live video streaming of City Council meetings on its Web site for the past six years; however, the diversified video on demand feature offers additional benefits. City Council meetings and ICTN programming can be viewed at any time—not just during live video streaming. In addition, council meetings are coordinated with paper agendas, which allow viewers to select a specific agenda item of interest without having to watch or fast-forward through the entire video. City Council Work Sessions are available on the menu as well.

“Video on demand is another convenient tool that we offer our residents in addition to other online services such as bill pay and public input forms,” said City Manager Tommy Gonzalez. “Video on demand enables viewers to watch at their convenience—24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

The videos are categorized into four sections: news, meetings, shows and specials. New videos are added on a weekly basis and older videos will be archived.

To watch a video, visit www.cityofirving.org and click on the “Irving Video on Demand” button on the left side of the home page.
