Activities Abound at Recreation Centers This Spring
Spring Break Camp
Irving recreation centers will offer a Spring Break Camp March 11–15 for children in grades K–5. A variety of activities will be offered including arts and crafts, gym games, field trips and more. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day, but will be provided with morning and afternoon snacks. Camp hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $95 per child. Spaces are limited and registration must be made in advance with an Irving Parks and Recreation (IPAR) ID card. Contact recreation center for details.

Easter Celebration – 10 a.m. to noon March 22. Kick off spring season with a fun event for families and children age 6 and younger. Event will feature photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny and kids will enjoy interacting with cute, furry creatures at the petting zoo. There will be an egg hunt and a chance to win prizes. Fee is $5 per child.

St. Patrick’s Day Party – 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 15. Children ages 3–6 will celebrate the Irish legend with refreshments and crafts. Register by March 13. Cost is $5.
Spring Egg Hunt and Easter Celebration – 11 to 11:45 a.m. March 30. Celebrate the arrival of Spring with an egg hunt and Easter party for children ages 3–6. Registration deadline is March 28. Cost is $5 per child.
Heritage Senior Center

Singles Outing – 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 14. Heritage singles will enjoy a visit to the Riverwalk Cantina at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine. Attendees will stroll along the open-air setting reminiscent of the famed River Walk in San Antonio and enjoy a delicious meal in the Cantina where old-world Mexico meets Tex-Mex. Ready, Set, Egg Hunt! – 10:30 a.m. to noon March 22. Find hidden eggs and take pictures with the Easter Bunny at this fun event for children ages 6 and younger. Registration deadline is March 18. Cost is $5 per child.

Teen Jam – 7 to 11 p.m. March 9. Middle and high school students are invited to dance to music provided by a disc jockey, play games, and enjoy complimentary pizza and soda. Free admission with a valid IPAR ID card.
Eggs and Jam – 7 to 11 p.m. March 23 at Heritage Aquatic Center (200 S. Jefferson St.). Middle and high school students are invited to this special aqua activity, which includes an evening of swimming, music, games and complimentary pizza and soda. Dive for eggs filled with candy and some special prizes! Free admission with a valid IPAR ID card.
Outdoor Fitness Adventures – Boys and girls ages 12–17 are invited to join this fun and intensive fitness program. Class meets 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and prepares students to participate as a team in local outdoor races throughout the year. For more information, call (972) 721-8090.

Family Movie Night – March 8. Bring a blanket or a chair and join us for a free, kid-friendly movie at the amphitheater beginning at dusk. Concessions will be available for purchase. Admission is free.
Easter Celebration – 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 28. Children ages 2–6 can enjoy a variety of Easter activities including photos with the Easter Bunny, egg hunt and more.
