Great Hearts Texas Charter School Meeting Set for Thursday, May 9
Charter school operator Great Hearts Texas will host an information meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 9 in the Lynch Auditorium at the University of Dallas, 1845 E. Northgate Drive (map).
Peter Bezanson, president of Great Hearts Texas, will detail the vision and mission of the charter school and answer questions at the meeting. Greater Hearts manages 15 schools in the Phoenix area with more than 6,500 students in grades K-12.
The charter school’s curriculum is a classical, liberal arts education with an emphasis on the “Great Books and the Socratic teaching method.”
Great Hearts Academies is in the process of opening its first school in San Antonio and sees potential in opening an Irving academy in the 2014-15 or 2015-16 school year, according to a press release.
