Residents Can Provide Budget Input Online, at Public Hearings
Planning for the city’s 2013-14 fiscal year budget is under way. Residents have the opportunity to provide input on the budget during several upcoming public hearings.
Comments can be made to the City Council on any aspect of the budget including property tax rates, water and sewer rates, and sanitation fees.
The current year’s budget is available for review on the city’s website, and a public input form is available on the Public Input page. Public input sessions are set for May 23, June 6 and 20. Two additional hearings will be held to comment on the proposed budget following the budget retreat in August. Budget adoption is being scheduled for Sept. 19
All hearings are at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. The city’s budget year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. Call the City Secretary’s Office at (972) 721-2493 to confirm hearing dates. For more information about the city budget, visit the Budget Home Page.
