Irving's Eco-Tourism Program began in 2008 to promote use of the Campión Trails System by offering a variety of classes, workshops and events that focus on personal growth and environmental responsibility. Listed below are the scheduled events for 2014. Registration is required for all activities. To register, please visit www.cityofirving.org/begreen.

Night Hike on Campión Trails
Explore the nighttime world of the animals of Campión Trails with native species experts and learn more about the sights, smells and sounds of nature at night. Night hikers are invited to challenge their skills in spotting signs of animal life and sharpening other senses. Learn more about the kinds of animals that call Irving home. Registration is required for all participants.

Restrictions - Due to the nature of this activity, which explores animals in their habitat at night, Irving's Night Hikes are limited to children ages 5 and older. Strollers will not be allowed. Other opportunities are being planned for children younger than 5. Pets are not allowed.

Feb. 15 | Great Backyard Bird Count
Join Irving in helping to collect information about bird species during the Great Backyard Bird Count. By particpating in the Great Backyard Bird Count, you become a part of creating a real-time snapshot of where birds are across the continent. Why count birds? Scientists and bird enthusiasts can learn a lot by knowing where birds are located. Bird populations are dynamic; they are constantly in flux. Oct. 11 | BioBlitz
BioBlitz is an event designed for community members to participate in a species inventory at Campión Trails. Volunteers will gather at Bird's Fort Trail Park, divide into teams and document types and number of species seen on sections of the trail.
