Delivering Exceptional Services

Irving Police Department

Community Service Division

School Crossing Guard Program

Our mission is to serve the community by providing safety for children, or other pedestrians, enroute to and from school.  We will do this by teaching children to cross properly, overseeing safe crossings, and observing and reporting any activity that may pose a danger at assigned locations before and after school.

Click here for a complete list of the schools in which the Irving Police Department provides School Crossing Guards, the staffed locations, and the assigned Crossing Guards’ work schedule.

Note that the School Crossing Guards assigned work schedule may not necessarily reflect the full duration of posted school zones.

Interested in becoming a School Crossing Guard?  Check out this informative brochure.  We are now hiring dedicated and qualified individuals!  The compensation range is from $9.62 - $13.56/hr.
