Professional Biography:

Captain Robert Jones is a life-long resident of Irving.  He started his career with the Irving Police Department in July, 1979 as a jailer.  In February, 1980, he became a police officer and attended the Dallas Sheriff's Academy.  He worked as a patrolman and became the first School Resource Officer at Nimitz High School in April, 1986.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 1987, serving in Patrol, Technical Services, and Community Services.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1992, and served in Special Operations and Patrol.  He was promoted to Captain in 1995, and served in Criminal Investigations, Special Operations, and Community Services.  He is a graduate of the Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute's Management College, and Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command.
