Health Education For information, call 972.721.3623 The goal of the health education program is to improve the overall health of the community by providing current health and wellness information in a variety of formats. WORKSHOPS: A series of free lectures called "For Your Health" are presented each year. Professionals from the medical community donate their time to share information on topics such as Nutrition, Skin Care, Breast Cancer, Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge, CFS/FM Moving Forward, Self Massages for Relaxation, Feeling Fabulous after 50, Anti Aging Medicine, Perfect Weight, Age Related Memory Decline, Seven Habits of Highly Healthy People, Making Your Life Extraordinary, and Herbs. Call to be placed on the mailing list for advance notice of similar exciting programs. HEALTH FAIRS: The health education service conducts several health fairs each year. Health education information is made available to the community at corporate wellness events, churches, civic organizations, schools and many other places. Call to find out how we can help with your group’s health fair plans. SPECIAL EVENTS: AIDS Awareness Week in Irving is the last full week in September. Panels from the World Famous AIDS Memorial Quilt are displayed atCity Hall and at Irving mall. Irving’s health education division co-sponsors an annual Pink Ribbon Luncheon for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Other events include:
