Traffic Division

The mission of the Traffic Division of the Public Works Department is to plan, operate, and maintain the transportation within the City of Irving in a safe, efficient and proactive manner.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Planning, designing and operating the City's transportation system
  • Planning, designing, installing, maintaining and operating traffic control devices
  • Coordinating with other city departments on transportation and communication issues
  • Coordinating with Texas Department of Transportation, North Central Texas Council Of Governments, Dallas County and other governmental agencies on transportation matters
  • Working with citizens, property owners, developers, engineers and other individuals and organizations on transportation matters.
