Mission
The mission of the Transportation Department is to plan, operate, and maintain the transportation within the City of Irving in a safe, efficient and proactive manner.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Planning, designing and operating the City's transportation system
- Planning, designing, installing, maintaining and operating traffic control devices
- Coordinating with other city departments on transportation issues
- Coordinating with Texas Department of Transportation, North Central Texas Council Of Governments, Dallas County and other governmental agencies on transportation matters
- Partner with citizens, property owners, developers, engineers and other individuals and organizations on transportation matters
