Ms. McVean brings over ten years of experience to this role. She will be responsibile for facilitating the participation of minorty and woman-owned businesses in the City's procurement process. Building on the past successes of the program, Ms. McVean will be the point person for making sure the City's goal of 26 percent M/WBE participation on formally awarded contracts continues to be met or exceeded. West Irving Library Plans The City of Irving is releasing plans and specifications for a 25,000 square foot library building. The project will be in the range of $6 million dollars for construction. The project includes a steel frame and masonry building on a suspended structural slab with pier and beams. The site improvements include access drive, parking, retaining walls, storm draininge, storm water retention, site landscaping and turf irrigation. If you did not pick up plans at the kickoff meeting on October 29th, you may secure the plans from the City of Irving Purchasing office, 845 W. Irving Blvd. Plans are on a CD and are available at a cost of $30. Bids will be due Dec. 1. Contractors are encouraged to begin their bid preparation process as early as possible to meet the deadline. To receive assistance in locating firms for sub-contracting work, please call (972) 721-2631. Capital Improvement Projects CIP bids must now be submitted to the Purchasing Division, 845 W. Irving Blvd., Irving, Texas 75061. The City Secretary's Office is no longer receiving these bids. All such bids now go to Purchasing. Bids may be submitted in person or by common carrier. The due time for all CIP bids is 10 a.m. on the date specified in the solicitation. As with all City solicitations, no late bids can be accepted. There will be a public opening of bids, following the 10 a.m. deadline, in the Purchasing Conference room at the same location. Receiving Soliciation Notices All notices for formal ITB and RFP/RFQ solicitations by Purchasing will be sent electronically. In order for you to receive notifications, please complete the Bidder's Notification and fax or send to the City of Irving Purchasing. By completing the Bidder's Notification with your current e-mail address, your company will be added to our notification database. There is no charge for this service. Keeping your e-mail address current and not blocking e-mail from the City of Irving will allow you to receive upcoming notification of business opportunities with City. If you are a certified M/WBE vendor, please send us your certification number and the specific group you belong to (African-American, Hispanic, and women etc.) If you have questions, call (972) 721-2631. Not receiving notices? You may not be receiving notices if your e-mail address has changed, and you haven't notified us. You may also not be receiving e-mail notices if you have installed a filter that only lets certain e-mails through or if your mailbox is full. If your e-mail notice"bounces back," you may be deleted from the notification database. However, you may still bid on any solicitation, and you may be added back to the notification database by correcting the e-mail problem and submitting a new application. Upon their request, we have deleted a number of firms from our notification database.
