Holiday Happenings
 
Every year the City observes several holidays. These holidays are spread throughout the year and will affect some of the services provided to citizens. For instance, the Solid Waste Services Department will not provide residential waste, recycling, or brush/bulky waste collection on City designated holidays. These services will resume on your next regularly scheduled day. 

The next City holiday is Thanksgiving which is Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 - 28 - City offices will be closed Nov. 27–28 for Thanksgiving. All offices will reopen at their regular hours Dec. 1. There will be no residential trash or brush collection on those days, nor will there be any curbside recycling collection. Services will resume on your next scheduled collection day. Hunter Ferrell Landfill, located at 220 W. Hunter Ferrell Road, also will be closed Nov. 27–28. The city’s drop-off recycling centers will be closed Nov. 25–27, but will reopen Nov. 28.
