PROFESSIONAL
INTEGRATION MANAGER PAY RANGE OF $6,118 - $8,629 PER MONTH
DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Duties include developing, maintaining and providing technical support for Information Technology systems, with primary focus on the Geographic Information System (GIS), Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), Infrastructure and Asset Management System (IAMS) and Water Utilities SCADA System; designing and implementing system integrations; and planning, supervising and evaluating the work of assigned staff. Duties also include leading team projects; preparing and teaching training classes; and providing assistance with budget preparation and RFP processes. Duties will require ability to adhere to strict deadlines working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Five years of database administration and maintenance experience, as well as two years supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree, or additional experience comparable to degree, in a computer science discipline required. Knowledge of GIS, EDMS, IAMS and / or SCADA system(s) preferred. Hours may include evenings and weekends.

SENIOR NETWORK SPECIALIST PAY RANGE OF $5,033 - $7,099 PER MONTH
DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Duties include managing the design, integration and deployment of a leading-edge wireline and wireless information transport infrastructure for the City; developing and implementing a network management plan; maintaining network routers and switches, network operating systems, servers and maintaining firmware; creating and maintaining a network redundancy and fail-over system; establishing guidelines for system and network backup; and taking a leadership role in ensuring network security. Duties also include handling administration and maintenance of the telephone system, including telephone switches; overseeing the creation of and updating phone and voicemail extensions, and routing and troubleshooting the citywide telecommunication system – serving as lead in the testing and integration of the network solution throughout the development process; and providing technical support for the Citrix server’s farm. Duties will require ability to adhere to strict deadlines working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Three years of experience in the planning, design, testing, integration and deployment of high-speed, secure and highly survivable voice, data and video networks; and a Bachelor’s degree, or additional experience comparable to degree, in a computer science discipline are required. Must have thorough knowledge of Windows Server 2000 / 2003 and Active directory, Exchange Server 2003, Windows XP, DNS and Internet-mail, Veritas backup software, Dell hardware and support mechanisms, and Microsoft support mechanisms. Experience in IP Quality of Service and L2 / L3 IP network design and implementation is highly desired. Experience with Internet Services (BGP) design and deployment is beneficial. Hours may include evenings and weekends.

DEPARTMENT: LIBRARY
Duties include advising and providing assistance to library patrons; reviewing and selecting materials for acquisition or disposition; instructing patrons in the use of electronic resources; and assisting with children’s programming, presenting programs such as story time and book talks. Possession of a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited program and one year professional library experience required. Must have knowledge of children’s reading interests and materials selection. Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills beneficial. Schedule includes weekend and evening hours.

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR PAY RANGE OF $13.30 - $18.76 PER HOUR
DEPARTMENT: SOLID WASTE SERVICES
Duties include collecting refuse, brush and debris and transporting it to the City landfill. Must be able to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance and have one year experience driving any vehicle that requires a Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) to operate. Must currently possess a Class A or B CDL.

HORTICULTURE WORKER PAY RANGE OF $11.48 - $16.21 PER HOUR
DEPARTMENT: PARKS AND RECREATION
Duties include working in the greenhouse propagating plants, preparing and weeding plant beds, planting, and trimming hedges. Must be able to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. A valid Class C Texas driver’s license and six months experience are required. Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Duties include advising and assisting library patrons and may require lifting up to 60 pounds frequently. An Associate’s degree, or equivalent, with a major in liberal arts or a related field and one year of library experience required. Must be at least 18 to be hired and have knowledge of library practices, reference and readers advisory services, computers and electronic resources. Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills beneficial. Hours vary and will include some evenings and weekends. Clerical and typing tests may be required.

DEPARTMENT: PARKS AND RECREATION
Duties include coordinating and implementing recreation classes and programs for children; answering telephones and greeting customers; and keeping the facility clean. A high school diploma or equivalent and six months customer service experience are required; recreation experience or training is preferred. Prior experience working with children beneficial. Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver’s license and be at least 18 to be hired. Schedule may vary and could include late afternoon, evening and / or weekend hours. Duties include performing lifeguarding tasks as required by certifying agencies; conducting instructional programs; and providing assistance with pool chemical monitoring and facility cleaning. Duties may require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be at least 16 to be hired, be able to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance, and have six months lifeguarding experience. Current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR certification is required. Must also have, or obtain within three months from date of hire, AED, O2 and disease transmission prevention certificates.
