Safety Education Program

Officers from the Community Services Section provide a multitude of safety education programs to school age children of the city.

Safety Town

One of the most recognizable programs is Safety Town. A cooperative program supported by various Irving businesses and the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, this program is presented to every first grade student in the Irving Independent School District and many other schools, such as private daycare centers and parochial schools.

The Safety Patrol Program at every elementary school campus is also a part of this program.

Presentations under this program include both crime prevention and safety education topics. Programs such as McGruff "The Crime Dog," and the Robotics Team (PC the Patrol Car and Safety Sam) are available to schools or other organizations. These presentations provide valuable crime prevention information to children, senior citizens, and businesses.
