Laughs by the Lake - Logo

An Evening of Live Comedy

There is no better way to end the week than with a laugh. The Levy Event Plaza, located in the Las Colinas Urban Center, provides a beautiful backdrop for an evening of live entertainment. Laughs by the Lake is the largest outdoor comedy show in North Texas. The show offers adults free fun, scenic views and great food.

Over 1,500 people are expected to take in the live comedic performances.

While there will be no profanity or obscene language, all comedic content is designed and intended for an adult audience. All ages are welcome to attend; however, parental caution is recommended for this PG-13 show.

Von & Jared @ 7 p.m.

Spend an Evening with Von and Jared for a riotously funny, interactive, and completely improvised tour de force headlining the main stage of The Comedy Arena. Von and Jared create fandemonium on the spot in one of the funniest live shows that has never been performed until you see it.

Von Daniel and Jared Berger are two of the founders who gave birth to The Comedy Arena and look forward to going through a different type of labor, with you, the audience, in this completely improvised comedy show!

Derrick Cakley @ 7:40 p.m.

With an unbeatable sense of humor, devilishly quick wit and club-tested, ever-evolving repertoire, Comedian Derrick Cakley has delighted comedy lovers for years.

As a comedian with a grasp on a wide range of styles and subjects, I have a range of different routines that can be tailored to different types of audience, from children right up to adults and entertainment for the elderly. From the groan-worthy to the outright hilarious, people are always surprised by my versatility and adaptable nature – no matter the bill or the event, I’ll fit right in.

His own routine is only one aspect of his comic talents – He also offers joke writing and workshopping services to other comedians and folks looking for a few jokes to lighten up a speech or a toast.

Rik Roberts @ 8:15 p.m.

Rik Roberts is a Nashville, TN-based comedian and speaker who focuses on providing 100% clean comedy and creative keynotes to groups who need a fun and engaging program.

As a married man, and father of two young kids, Rik has found there are enough real-life situations that we can all laugh at without going “below the belt”. Family-friendly comedy is his specialty. His programs are a good fit for association meetings, corporate groups, fundraising events, awards ceremonies, and faith-based events.

Rik grew up in Kentucky working alongside his father on tobacco farms. The long days in the hot sun gave him a work ethic and motivation that he still taps into today. He spent eight summers working on thoroughbred horse farms. He often draws upon these experiences along with the rural way of life in his speaking engagements.
