December in Irving just got jollier!
The holidays kick off with a nighttime parade through downtown Irving and annual tree lighting ceremony. Festivities continue with free family friendly events through the month of December, designed to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

The festive Annual Holiday Parade will help kick off the Holidays at Heritage series of events this season. This year's Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. Don't miss this year's "Irving's Polar Express" Parade as it lights the streets in Irving's Heritage District.
Following the parade, visit Heritage Park for the annual traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony and activities until 9:30 p.m. Enjoy photos with Santa, live reindeer, holiday-themed crafts, holiday photo opportunities, live music and food vendors.
Parade and Tree Lighting Schedule:
- 6 p.m. Parade begins
- 7:00 p.m. Activities at Heritage Park begin
- 7:15 p.m. Live holiday performance from the Midnight Soul Band at Heritage Park Stage
- 8:30 p.m. Tree Lighting and Drone Light Show
- 9:30 p.m. Activities conclude

Enjoy dinner in the Heritage District or from one of the on-site food vendors, while you enjoy a holiday performance and movie. Make sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

- 8 p.m. | Stick around for a free showing of Jack Frost (1998) PG.
As a touring musician clinging to dreams of stardom, aging rocker Jack Frost (Michael Keaton) never had much time for his wife, Gabby (Kelly Preston), and young son, Charlie (Joseph Cross). A year after Jack's tragic death in a car accident on Christmas Day, Charlie plays a mournful tune on his father's harmonica. Much to his surprise, the elder Frost is magically brought to life as a snowman on the family lawn. Given a second chance, Charlie and Jack struggle to make up for lost time.

All We Want for Christmas is to sing our hearts out to Christmas tunes!
Stroll to the Heritage Park Stage for the evening. Families and friends can sing along or take the lead on their favorite holiday songs. Singing not your thing? Make a holiday ornament craft to take home or dance in the inflatable disco dome!
Free hot chocolate will be available for the first 100 attendees.

The Academy Award-winning team of Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Cast Away) reunite for The Polar Express, an inspiring adventure based on the beloved children's book by Chris Van Allsburg. When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

Santa may be busy getting ready for the busy season, but has made time to stop by the gazebo at Heritage Park for photos! Grab your free photo with Santa (available in printed and digital versions), Carol-oke, crafts, cookie decorating, trackless train rides, or bounce around in an inflatable gingerbread house or giant elf igloo! Adding onto the fun- enjoy holiday performances from Nimitz and Irving High School Choirs!
Free hot chocolate will be served to the first 100 attendees!
Annual Centennial Holiday Lights
December 3-27, 2022 | dusk to 10 p.m. Daily
Centennial Park, 444 W. Second St.
The free holiday lights display affords a leisurely stroll through one of the jewels of Irving’s Heritage District - Centennial Park. The park is decorated with 60,000 lights on the fences, trees and bridge, and walkways are lit on each side to keep pathways visible for visitors after dark.
This holiday tradition is staffed 24/7, and portable restrooms are available onsite. Visitors can ask the on-duty city staff any questions they have about the decorations. Bike riding is not permitted through the display.
