December in Irving just got jollier!
The holidays kick off with a nighttime parade through downtown Irving and annual tree lighting ceremony. Festivities continue with free, family-friendly events through the month of December, designed to get everyone in the holiday spirit!
Parade and Tree Lighting
6 to 9 p.m.
Heritage District
Irving's annual holiday parade kicks off the Holidays at Heritage Series this season! This year's Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. Don't miss this year's "Tales of the Holidays" parade as it lights up the streets in Irving's Heritage District.

Following the parade, visit Heritage Park for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and activities, beginning at 7 p.m. Enjoy live music from the Midnight Soul Band on the Heritage Park Stage, photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a D-I-Y hot chocolate bar, holiday-themed crafts, drone show, and the iconic tree lighting.
Parade and Tree Lighting Schedule:
- 6 p.m. Parade begins
- 7:00 p.m. Activities at Heritage Park begin
- 7:15 p.m. Live holiday performance from the Midnight Soul Band at Heritage Park Stage
- 8:30 p.m. Tree Lighting and Drone Light Show
- 9 p.m. Activities conclude
Live Music & holiday movie night

Enjoy dinner in the Heritage District or from one of the on-site food vendors, while you enjoy a live musical holiday performance and movie. Make sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
Free popcorn will be available for the first 100 attendees.
- 7 p.m. | Holiday-themed performance from The Merry Band of Christmas
- 8 p.m. | Stick around for a free showing of The Grinch (2018) PG
The Grinch attempts to undermine the annual Christmas celebration at Whoville with the help of his loyal dog and reindeer. Disguised as Santa Claus he tries to steal all the presents, but his cover is threatened by an earnest young girl.

All we want for Christmas is to sing our hearts out to Christmas tunes!
Stroll to the Heritage Park Stage for an evening of sing-along fun at Carol-oke! This family-friendly karaoke night will have you center-stage, singing loud for all to hear.
The spotlight not your thing? Stay to watch the show and sing along from the crowd, while enjoying a warm cup of FREE hot chocolate*. This evening event is sure to get you, and the whole family, in the holiday spirit!
Free hot chocolate will be available for the first 100 attendees!
Dance & holiday movie night
6 P.M.

Enjoy dinner in the Heritage District or from one of the on-site food vendors, while enjoying holiday dance performances, followed by a movie. Make sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

- 7 p.m. | Stick around for a free showing of Elf (2003) PG.
After accidentally falling into Santa Claus' gift sack, a human baby is raised at the North Pole, growing up to believe he is an elf. Due to his large size, the "elf" causes chaos in Santa's workshop, forcing Kris Kringle to send him on a mission to find his human roots.

Santa may be busy getting ready for the holiday season but has made time to stop by the gazebo at Heritage Park for photos! Grab your free photo with Santa while enjoying a holiday performance from Nimitz and Irving High School Choirs. Make sure to decorate a cookie and take a stroll through the Children's Entrepreneur Market for those last-minute holiday gifts!

Annual Centennial Holiday Lights
Dec. 2-26 | dusk to 10 p.m. Daily
Centennial Park, 444 W. Second St.
The free holiday lights display affords a leisurely stroll through one of the jewels of Irving’s Heritage District - Centennial Park. The park is decorated with 60,000 lights on the fences, trees and bridge, and walkways are lit on each side to keep pathways visible for visitors after dark.
This holiday tradition is staffed 24/7, and portable restrooms are available onsite. Visitors can ask the on-duty city staff any questions they have about the decorations. Bike riding is not permitted through the display.
