Fee Schedule

Adoption Fees

Dogs and cats over six (6) months of age
Dogs and cats six (6) months of age and younger$100
Other animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, etc.$10 - $40

Dogs and cats being adopted will be:

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies if the animal is more than four months of age
  • Spayed or neutered
  • Given a general dewormer and treated for fleas and ticks
  • Microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch
  • Heartworm tested (dogs over 6 months of age)
  • FeLV / FIV tested (cats over 6 months of age)
  • Offered a 30 day trial of 24PetWatch pet insurance (with a valid email address)
  • Given a sample bag of Science Diet food

Impoundment Fees

There is a minimum $60 impoundment fee, plus the following:

  •  $15 microchip if the animal is not already microchipped
  •  $10 rabies vaccine if a current rabies certificate is not presented when reclaiming the animal
  •  $10 daily maintenance fee for each day the animal is impounded

Microchip and ID Tag Fees

The cost for a microchip is $15 and includes implantation and registration with 24PetWatch.

ID tags are available for $3 to $5.

Replacement rabies tags are available for animals vaccinated by Irving Animal Services for $5.

Quarantine Fee

The bite quarantine fee is $150 and includes the following:

  • Ten-day observation period at the shelter from the date and time of the bite.
  • Rabies vaccination.
  • Microchip implantation and registration with 24PetWatch.

In circumstances where home quarantine is approved, the fee is $50.
