The Freegal Music Collection offers download or streaming access to more than 11 million songs and 23,000 music videos, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists. In total the collection is comprised of music from over 30,000 labels with music that originates in over 80 countries.
Note: Due to the size of the Freegal Music Collection, you will not find it's content listed within Irving Public Library's Polaris catalog.
You will need the 14 digit number found on the back of your Irving Public Library card and your 4 digit PIN to download or stream music.
How Freegal Works
Downloading Music & Videos Library card holders in good standing have a weekly download limit of five songs or two videos. There is no software to download, and there are no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions. You can keep track of your weekly downloads in the upper right corner of the site. Every song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download. You must be logged in to enjoy the sample clips.
Library card holders in good standing can stream up to three hours of music each day. Like the downloads, the time remaining is listed in the upper right corner of the screen. Streaming begins anytime you click on a song or album cover, and a music player will appear in the bottom of your browser. In addition, you can create saved playlists.
