Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:45 p.m. at the South Irving Library, except where otherwise noted.
If you like to read the newest books, socialize with your friends, and attend parties, or if you want to be in a group where your opinion counts, join the Young Adult Action Council (YAAC) and earn volunteer hours for school by planning upcoming teen programs, contributing to the library’s teen newsletter and website, and coming up with ideas on how to make the library more teen-friendly. Project Days are on Saturdays at 2 p.m., as needed.
All teens in grades 9 through 12 are welcome to join. YAAC volunteers receive special perks such as advance copies of the latest teen books, email reminders for meetings and programs, and invitations to special YAAC only events.
To join, just download a YAAC Application (PDF) and fill it out. Then turn it in at the South Irving Library, or bring it with you to the next meeting. For more information, call (972) 721-2606.
If you would like to volunteer at the Irving Public Library, please visit our Volunteer at the Library page.
