Apply online, deliver or mail an application. The City of Irving accepts faxed applications to make it easier for candidates to apply by a specified closing date, but an original, signed application must be provided upon request. The fax number is (972) 721-2582. Mail applications to:

Application Information

  • Applications are accepted in person Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd., third floor.
  • Applications are accepted only for positions that are currently open, up to 5 p.m. of the closing date.
  • The City of Irving conducts pre-employment drug screening for all positions.

Qualifications

The minimum age requirement for regular full-time and part-time employment is 18. Preference for interviews by the department are given to the most qualified applicants who may possess more specific education and/or experience than is given in a particular job description.

Duties shown in the job description represent a summary of the essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned. An applicant wishing to apply for a different position while still under consideration for another must complete a new application.
