Irving Public Library eCard

For patrons that don’t want to visit the library in person, Irving Public Library offers an eCard that gives access to all of the library’s electronic resources including online databases, downloadable audio-books and e-books.

There is a $40 fee for the eCard, but Irving residents can obtain a Full Access card that includes these privileges by sending proof of identification and address by email to circulation@cityofirving.org. In addition, students attending a college, university, trade school, or other institution of higher education that is located in Irving can obtain a free College Card which also includes these privileges

How to Obtain an eCard

The requestor will receive an email confirmation within two business days that their account has been created, along with the link to the payment portal to pay the $40 fee and activate the card. 

Card Restrictions

The eCard is valid for one year. The eCard does not allow the user to borrow library materials or to use the public computers at the library. Those wishing to check out library materials or use the public computers at the library you must upgrade to a full access card by providing identification documents. Account holders can upgrade their card by visiting the library in person or emailing circulation@cityofirving.org with identifying documents attached. 

The library cannot guarantee the security of personal information emailed to the library.

Renewing an eCard

To renew an expired eCard, please resubmit an updated eCard application online and select the method of payment.
