Irving Public Library eCard

Don’t have a library card but want to use the Irving Public Library online? We have an eCard for you! The Irving Public Library eCard is a virtual library card that gives you access to all of our electronic resources including online databases, downloadable audio-books and e-books.

The eCard is designed for online users who do not have an existing Irving Public Library card. If you need assistance with your current account or library card, please contact the library via online chat, email, or stop by any of the Irving Public Library locations.

How to Obtain an eCard

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a valid email address
  • You must have a debit or credit card to pay the annual, non-refundable fee of $40
  • Complete the online application form 

You will receive an email confirmation within two business days that your account has been created, along with the link to the payment portal to pay the $40 fee and activate your card. 

Card Restrictions

The eCard is valid for one year. The eCard does not allow you to borrow library materials or to use the public computers at the library. If you wish to check out library materials or use the public computers at the library you must upgrade to a full access card by providing identification documents. Click here for a list of acceptable forms of identification and address documents. You can upgrade your card by visiting the library in person or emailing with your documents attached.

Renewing an eCard

To renew an expired eCard, please resubmit an updated eCard application online and select your method of payment.
