The City of Irving offers a wide variety of programming and activities for adults ages 50 and older through the Heritage Senior Center (HSC). The 29,000 square-foot facility was built in 2003.
Amenities include comfortable classrooms, a sunny dining room and a gorgeous ballroom with a wooden dance floor. Members can read a book in the library, get creative in the craft room, play billiards, use a computer or exercise in the fully equipped fitness room.
The facility is surrounded by beautiful, outdoor living spaces and the Heritage Aquatic Center is conveniently located next door.
Having Fun Over 50
Getting older doesn't mean you have to slow down. Through the Irving Parks and Recreation Department, the HSC offers plenty of fun and creative activities to help seniors stay active. The facility's schedule is filled with fitness classes, field trips, workshops and guest speakers.
HSC offers its members assistance with transportation needs, Social Security benefits counseling and tax preparation. In addition, a daily meal program is offered for a small fee through the Dallas Area Agency on Aging. The center also has a list of valuable resources for seniors with information on local and state organizations.
For more information on any of these services, please call the HSC staff at (972) 721-2496.
