Recycling Drop-Off Station

Dec 4 2023 Return to Twice Per Week Trash Collection

Located at the Irving Hunter Ferrell Landfill, 110 E. Hunter Ferrell Road, the recycling drop-off station is accessible from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, except for city holidays. The drop-off station is an added benefit for residents who do not receive city services.

Items that can be recycled are the same as those in the curbside program. Recyclables brought to the landfill are placed directly into a roll-off collection container and do not need to be placed in translucent blue bags.

What can be recycled?

  • Aluminum and steel food cans
  • Corrugated cardboard (broken down and put inside the blue bag or placed underneath)
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Paper
    • Catalogs
    • Junk mail (direct mail)
    • Magazines
    • Mixed office paper
    • Newspaper
    • Paper bags
    • Phone books
    • School paper
  • Paperboard boxes (cereal, macaroni, etc.)
  • Plastic containers numbers 1-3 and 5-7

Nonrecyclable Items

  • Bottles that have contained pesticides, motor oil or other hazardous materials
  • Light bulbs
  • Mirrors
  • Plastics number 4, which includes items such as plastic grocery, produce and frozen food bags. Items can be returned to most grocery stores and placed in a container usually located near the entrance.
  • Plate glass, auto glass, ceramics, etc.
  • Styrofoam or packing peanuts
  • Yard waste
