This summer you'll have eyes full of stars with the library's Universe of Stories-themed Reading Challenge! Paint the galaxy, create your very own bath bombs or join us at one of our many book clubs. No matter how you get your stories, they will be counting towards great prizes.
Pick up a paper reading log when you stop into the library, or go digital with ReadSquared, our online reading log tracker.
You can help Irving residents in need by donating toiletry and food items to the Irving Cares drop-off at the South Irving Library from now until August 31. With the kids out of school and the looming Texas heat, your donation can help a family’s summer become a bit more comfortable. Appreciated items are consisted of, but not limited to:
Shelter Items: Diapers, Wipes, Formula, Shoes, Shampoo, Soap, Toothpaste
Pantry Items: Cereal, Microwave Meals, Fruit Cups, Juice Boxes, Peanut Butter, Canned Meats, Canned Veggies
An average of 738 Irving families receive a week’s worth of nutritious groceries, per month. Irving Cares helps families with food, rent, utilities, prescriptions, information and referrals, transportation and job-seeking services. Your support makes a difference. And remember, it’s a hand up, not a hand out.
